Product Description

Auber Digital Temperature Controller - Two-Stage:

Control the heating and cooling of your fermenter with this Auber Instruments two-stage temperature controller.  The digital controller has two relays; each relay is wired to a different AC outlet.  Plug your Cool Zone’s pump into one outlet, and your Cool Zone’s heater into the other outlet.  The Auber Instruments Digital Temperature Controller will monitor the temperature of the beer and control the appropriate circuit to either heat or cool the fermenter.

The Auber Controller also has alarm setpoints (High and Low) to let you know if you need to check on the fermenters.  Another nice feature is the bright temperature display; it can be read from across the room, or in low light conditions.  The display resolution is 0.1 degrees and you can set your control parameters (heating and cooling set-points and differentials) down to +/- 0.1 degree for very tight temperature control.

  • The controller can display temperature unit in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
  • Either the heating or the cooling device is limited to 10 Amps. The output voltage is the same as the input voltage.  When the controller is plugged into 120V AC, the output will be 120VAC. If the controller is connected to 240 VAC, the output will be 240VAC also.
  • The input power plug is a US 120V NEMA 5-15P plug. The output socket will accept US (three prong, and two prong NON-polarized), Australia, or European continental plug (CEE7/7). Please note, this controller will not accept a two-pole polarized plug (as used on our heating elements).  One will need to use an adapter.  We recommend a power strip with a three pole plug.  This will work with the controller and allow you to use one or more heating elements with your system.

  1. Defective Unit 1 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Feb 2017

The unit I received was defective. Gotta Brew handled my complaint well, although they did not provide a return label for the defective unit - probably spaced it off, because their brews are so enticing. :)
The replacement was a newer model that had north American specific plugs. It is functioning perfectly and it performs as desired. It does allow good programmability. You have to use a PI board to get computer connectivity and data recording.

  2. Not a better fermentation controller out there. 5 Star Review

Easy to setup. Does both the heating and cooling!! I have an old hairdryer plugged into the hot side and quickly heats up my kegerator that I use for fermentation in no time. Unit is VERY adjustable and even has a feature that will save the life of your compressor by not allowing the compressor to turn on and off every second. You can also adjust the time interval between when it does this.
Has alarms and lights to show when the cold or hot side is on. Easy to read from far away. Wall mountable.
-Only gripe is that the plug holes in the unit have the ground hole upside down so the plug from my kegerator runs up and over the sensor light. You can see what I mean in the sample pics of the unit. Definitely not a deal breaker. Get one!!
